Meet Your Therapist, Dr. Monique
Sometimes you need a space where you can just be—no performance, no pressure.
My goal is to create a supportive, down-to-earth environment where you feel seen and cared for, even when things feel heavy. I work with adults from all backgrounds and identities, with specialized experience supporting BIPOC and LGBTQ+ individuals navigating anxiety, burnout, relationship stress, and major life transitions. Whether you're feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or just not like yourself lately, I’m here to help you make sense of what’s beneath the surface, at your own pace. Therapy with me centers your insight, your lived experience, and your capacity to heal—even if you’re not sure where to begin.

I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor (LPC-S) and Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), licensed in both New York and Louisiana. I hold a PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision, along with a Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy.
Over the past decade, I’ve worked in a range of settings—from community clinics and juvenile detention centers to schools, churches, and university counseling centers. I also teach and supervise future counselors, which keeps me connected to both the heart of this work and the next generation of therapists.

I offer therapy via secure telehealth, creating a space where you can show up as you are—wherever you are.
My style is warm, collaborative, and emotionally attuned. I draw from an emotion-focused and interpersonal lens to help you explore what’s happening beneath the surface and how it impacts your relationships and sense of self. I also integrate family-of-origin work and culturally responsive care, making space for you to reflect on the stories and systems that have shaped you.

As a queer Black woman and therapist, I care deeply about creating space for the parts of you that have been overlooked or held in silence. I value honesty, emotional steadiness, and a pace that feels manageable. My work is rooted in care, curiosity, and supporting you in building self-trust and emotional regulation—especially when life feels heavy.
“There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you.”
Let’s Begin Where You Are
If you struggle to name what you're feeling or find vulnerability uncomfortable, you're not alone. Therapy isn’t about fixing you—it’s about making space for your truth, one honest moment at a time. We’ll move gently, exploring what’s beneath the surface and creating room for insight, relief, and growth.
You're allowed to take up space here—just as you are.
